Description
Björn Weckström is a Finnish sculptor and jewelry artist. He attended goldsmith school in the 1950s. From the beginning of his career, he has created sculptural jewelry that resemble miniature sculptures more than traditional goldsmithing. Weckström is especially known for his work for Lapponia Jewelry. Weckström has been awarded, among others, the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1971 and the Kaj Franck Design Prize in 2013. In 2024, he received the Finland Prize for Culture.
