Description
Pentti Sarpaneva was a Finnish jewellery designer and designer. Beginning in the 1950s, he specialised in jewellery that ordinary people could afford. He also designed decorative and functional objects. Sarpaneva’s early jewellery pieces were handmade at home, featuring enamel surfaces and recycled materials. Sarpaneva began his design career in the early 1960s at an atelier established within Merkkikeskus Sorsa. In the mid-1960s, he started collaborating with Kalevala Koru, and later, in 1967, he became the artistic designer for Turun Hopea Oy, where he worked as artistic director until his death.
