Description

Timo Sarpaneva was an internationally renowned Finnish artist and professor. He rose to prominence as an acclaimed name in design already in the early 1950s. Sarpaneva received numerous awards and international recognitions during his career, including the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennial in 1954 (*3) and the Lunning Prize in 1956. He was also awarded the Pro Finlandia medal in 1958.

Blues vases were designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1985. The combination of colored and opal glass creates a watercolor-like atmosphere in the mouth-blown vases. The collection for which Sarpaneva designed the Blues vases received the State Award for Industrial Arts in 1985.

The Blues vase is in good condition.
