Nanny Still was a Finnish glass artist. In 1949, Still won Riihimäen Lasi’s Nordic design competition, which led to her being hired by the factory. She is best known for the works she created for Riihimäen Lasi. At the factory, she designed both art glass and utility glass objects. Still worked at the Riihimäki glassworks until the 1970s. Later, while living in Belgium, her artistic career continued with designing pieces for Rosenthal’s glassblowing workshop. Over the course of her versatile career, Still designed almost everything from jewelry to frying pans. For her achievements, Still was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1972.
