Description
Michael Schilkin was a Russian-born ceramic artist who worked in the Arabia factory’s art department from 1935 until his death. He used color boldly and created sculptures from, among other materials, chamotte and stoneware. For his works made for Arabia, Schilkin received a gold medal at the 1937 Paris World Exhibition. In 1958, he was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal.
Very good condition for its age.
Observation: One glazing air bubble on the side, minor age-related wear on the body and small crack on the bottom. Shown in the pictures.
