Description

Kaj Franck is one of the most internationally renowned Finnish ceramic and glass designer. Franck designed for Arabia, Artek, Iittala and Nuutajärvi. He served as the artistic director of the Nuutajärvi glassworks from 1950 to 1973.
During his career, Franck won many design competitions and recognitions, including at the Milan Triennial in 1951 and 1954, the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennial in 1957, the Compasso d’Oro award, the Prince Eugen Medal, and the Lunning Prize. He received the Pro Finlandia medal in 1957.

The 1609 pitcher and stackable 2744 Kimara glasses are part of the Party set designed by Kaj Franck. The set included a pitcher and ten differently colored 2744 Kimara stackable glasses, as well as a gift box decorated with penguins.
The handleless glasses and pitcher take up little space in the cupboard, since the glasses can be neatly stacked inside the pitcher.

Set is in good condition for its age.
