Kaarina Aho was a Finnish ceramicist and designer. She worked as a designer at Arabia from 1946 to 1962, where she primarily designed clean-lined serving dishes. From 1962 onwards, she had her own ceramic studio in Helsinki. Her designs were twice awarded silver medals at the Milan Triennial, in 1954 and 1957. At the exhibition in Sacramento, United States, Aho received a gold medal in 1961.
The Munakana ceramic boxes originate from the 1950s and were produced until the 1970s. Various glazes, colorings and decorative techniques were experimented with in these pieces.
