Description
Heikki Turunen is a Finnish designer who had a 38-year career as a lighting designer at Stockmann-Orno beginning in the 1960s. He has been a significant contributor to the development of Finnish lighting design.
At the start of his career, Turunen worked as an assistant to chief designer Lisa Johansson-Pape, but he soon began developing his own lighting models.
Turunen gained international recognition in 1993 when his Avanti lamp was selected for the official residence of the President of France, the Élysée Palace. This was a significant acknowledgment of Finnish design and a testament to the quality and impact of Turunen’s work.
This pair of 1970s Pallukka wall lamps (2 pieces) is in good condition for its age.
Observations: Marked Orno 50-005. Some wear and traces of use. Switch is in the electrical wire. Ungrounded electrical wire, not functionally tested.
