Description
Elis Kauppi (1921-2004) was a Finnish jewelry designer. He was one of the founders of Kupittaan Kulta Oy, a Turku-based goldsmith’s company established in 1945, where he served as its long-standing artistic director and jewelry designer until 1988. Elis Kauppi was one of the pioneers of modern Finnish jewelry design. The jewellery he designed was quite minimalist in form, yet original and elegant. Kauppi’s jewellery has also been featured in numerous international arts and crafts exhibitions and museums around the world. His jewelry has become internationally sought-after among collectors of jewelry art. Kauppi was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1969.
This exquisite and eye-catching ring, produced in 1975, is made of 925 silver. The ring features a brown polished smoky quartz gemstone.
