Description

Mauno Oittinen was a Finnish sculptor, one of many who began their careers in Wäinö Aaltonen’s studio in the 1920s and 1930s. He was a skilled and popular sculptor of portraits. He was always interested in depicting people. Among his models were many well-known artists such as Jean Sibelius and F.E. Sillanpää. He also created several public works. Between 1946 and 1960, Oittinen lived and worked in the USA and Mexico.

Mother and child sculpture is in good condition for its age.
Observations (look at the pictures): Minor age-related wear, couple of most likely production-related defects and one small crack under mothers other arm.
