Description
Raija Uosikkinen was a Finnish ceramic artist who enjoyed a long career as a tableware and pattern designer at the Arabia factory from 1947 until her retirement in 1986. Her work was showcased at the Milan Triennials in 1954 and 1960, as well as at the Brussels World’s Fair in 1958.
In 1957, Uosikkinen created Emilia, a design that remains relevant today in both its message and visual expression. Best known for her distinctive decorative designs, she also designed several tableware forms, including this magnificent vase in the RU design. Standing 21 cm tall and featuring a large handle, this functional yet decorative piece is the crown jewel of the collection.
This vase is in very good condition for its age.
