Description

Anna-Greta Eker was a Finnish-Norwegian jewellery designer born in the Åland Islands. She studied design at the Ateneum School of Arts and Crafts in Helsinki, graduating in 1951. After graduation, she worked as a designer for Hopeakeskus Oy from 1952 to 1955, before spending a short period studying in Germany. She subsequently returned to Finland to work for Auran Kultasepät.
Eker is best known for her jewellery and silver objects from the modernist period. Among her most notable designs are modern candlesticks that combine silver and fine hardwood with exceptional skill.
