Description
Francesca Mascitti-Lindh is an Italian-born Finnish ceramic artist. From 1953 to 1955, Francesca and her husband, Richard Lindh, ran their own workshop, where they produced functional ceramics. In 1955, they were invited to join the Art Department of Arabia, where Francesca worked until 1989.
Mascitti-Lindh’s work can be described as technically innovative, natural in character, and at once delicate and powerful in mood. In terms of form, her vases, dishes, wall reliefs and sculptures are often playful. She held numerous exhibitions in Finland and abroad and received several awards.
Today, her creative work continues across three generations in a studio in Porvoo, Finland.
