Description

Lillemor Mannerheim-Klingspor was a Finnish ceramic artist who lived in Sweden. She is especially known for her vases and playful animal figurines. Mannerheim studied in Stockholm and Paris, and worked for, among others, Arabia. From the 1950s onward, she was a permanent employee at Gefle Porcelain Factory in Sweden.
After marrying in 1957, she left her position at Gefle but continued working in her own studio at her home farm. She created the Endangered Species figurine collection for Arabia in 1984.

The owl figurine belongs to the Endangered Species series designed in 1984 for WWF. Proceeds from the sales of the series were used to support the work of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The figurine collection, featuring endangered animals, includes a penguin, zebra, panda, seal, otter, black grouse, capercaillie, owl, and koala.

The owl figurine is in very good condition for its age.
