Description
Liisa Vitali was a Finnish jewelry designer. She began working with metal as a hobby sometime after the mid-1950s, initially designing buttons made of copper and brass, but gradually moved on to jewelry and precious metals. She may have been inspired to pursue jewelry design by a family acquaintance from Somero, Kaija Aarikka, whose company in Helsinki she worked for in the 1950s. At first, Vitali’s jewelry was available only directly from the designer and from Aarikka’s shop, but she later entered into an agreement with Kultakeskus, a company based in Hämeenlinna. During the 1960s and 1970s, she designed numerous jewelry collections for the company, which were very successful commercially and gained recognition internationally. In the 2000s, Vitali’s jewelry has been brought back into production.
The jewelry set is in very good condition for its age.
