Description
Heidi Blomstedt was a Finnish designer who mainly worked as an independent ceramic artist, apart from a few short periods at the Arabia factory, a year at the Uppsala-Ekeby ceramics factory in 1950, and collaborations with Kupittaan Savi Oy and the Kumela glass factory. The pieces she designed for Kupittaan Savi stood out from the company’s other production with their modern style. The simplicity of form was balanced by the use of color. Heidi Blomstedt’s father was Jean Sibelius, the most internationally known and performed Finnish composer.
